This Freedom 39 Pilothouse Schooner is a comfortable, well-equipped liveaboard with extensive upgrades and gear. Designed for offshore sailing with a simple unstayed rig, it’s an ideal platform for extended cruising or coastal exploration. Designed by Gary Hoyt, this boat is a rare gem - one of only 29 hulls. She is designed to be easy to handle - tacking the boat only requires turning the helm. The well organized running rigging all runs to the cockpit, where four drum winches make easy work of managing the boat under sail.

This boat is a true blue water cruiser, but capable of sailing the ICW. Purchased in 2024, we sailed from Massachusetts via the ICW to West Palm Beach FL, then through the Bahamas and back to Florida. We had intended to finish the little work remaining on the refit, and continue sailing her to Europe, but some family events have required us to return to Canada for the foreseeable future.
This rare vessel has one of the largest and brightest layouts that can be found in a sub-40ft monohull.
