List of Equipment
Bliss, hull number 363, is the final Cape Dory 30 constructed in East Taunton, Massachusetts in 1986. She was purchased by my wife and me in 2012 with the intent of undertaking extended blue-water cruising throughout New England and Nova Scotia. The Cape Dory 30 cutter-rigged design was deliberately chosen for its well-documented offshore capability, robust double-hulled construction, and proven performance in the strong winds and demanding sea conditions characteristic of the Northeast.
Over the subsequent two and a half years, Bliss underwent an extensive refit and refinishing program, as she was intended to serve as our full-time cruising home along the Northeast coast. Major elements of this refit included installation of a new diesel engine (Universal M3-20b, 2017), transmission and fuel tank, The complete replacement of all water, sanitation, exhaust, fuel, and seacock hoses throughout the vessel.
To enhance onboard comfort and livability, Bliss was further outfitted with hot and cold pressurized water, a propane-fired cabin heater, a 110-volt electrical inverter, cockpit shower, new interior and cockpit cushions, and numerous additional upgrades focused on convenience and safety. Since completion of the refit, she has been thoughtfully maintained and enjoyed.
Due to age and health considerations, we have decided to offer Bliss for sale, as presently equipped, at an asking price of $33,900. The price is negotiable should a buyer prefer the removal of certain non-standard equipment installed for comfort and safety, including—but not limited to—radar, secondary anchor and rode, dodger, propane grill, staysail furling system, 110-volt inverter, and similar items.
Bliss is currently stored on the hard at our residence in Hope, Maine, just outside of Camden Harbor, Camden, Maine where she was previously moored for over ten years.
