Starting as a young talent on the North Capes Yacht Club junior sailing team, Ryan cultivated his passion for the sport. During his college years at the University of Toledo, Ryan's sailing flourished, leading him to qualify for three (ICSA) Inter-Collegiate National Championships and earning him all-conference honors as a Skipper twice.
Ryan continued to excel, earning a bronze medal at the 2018 US Sailing Adult Championship. His dedication and excellence extended to the professional realm, as he worked with North Sails from 2019 to 2023. Ryan competes in the J24, DN Iceboat and F18 Catamaran classes.
