For sale is a vintage Reeds Cub Scow sailboat, single-handed dinghy. I bought it used to play with. Unfortunately, I can’t handle it anymore with my arthritis and the grandkids are not interested
This is a one- or two-person scow (relatively flat bottom and squared off bow and stern) with a mainsail and no jib. The hull is twelve feet long and four feet wide at the middeck. There are hiking straps on both sides of the cockpit. The cockpit is almost fully self-bailing. I have capsized it a few times, so I know! When new, there were scupper holes in the cockpit with small “doors”. But the doors never sealed well, so I just closed them permanently with silicone caulk, and they are not needed. The hull bottom has a couple of small repaired holes and there are some loose chunks of something inside the hull. But the hull does not leak. The boat has a retractable center board and an aluminum rudder, both of which work fine.
The sail is in very good condition: no rips or holes. It is very easy to rig with just one person. It is about 12 sq. meters in area, so this boat can move well!.
The boat comes with a small trailer, which works fine and has a permanent registration in Minnesota, and the custom cover you see in the photos,
I am selling the whole outfit for $700.
